Your entranceway should say "HEY, LOOK AT ME"?
Replace knobs & locks.
(Buyer will probably replace them, but for about $50
you will improve appearance.)
2. Scrub or
paint the front door & plant some bright flowers near the
entranceway
3. Trim trees /
scrubs, mow / edge yard, remove weeds from flower beds &
yard clutter
4. Refresh the
exterior paint.
5. Clean /
repair / replace screens and windows.
6. Ensure that
heating and air conditioning units are ok. (Share usage
information)
7. Make sure
that faucets don't drip, toilets work and all lights come
on.
8. Vacuum your
carpets, shampoo them, if needed replace them.
9. Clean
curtains and drapes Keep them open
10. Repair wall cracks, & replace dirty or damaged caulking
11. Organize your closets. (They will appear larger)
12. Avoid clutter: Remove excess furniture, papers /
magazines & walls of pictures.
(You are going to pack these items when you move, why
not do it when you list.)
13. Cats and Dogs must be out of the way during showings.
14. Remove odors especially pet odors (You are acclimated to
them, but buyers are not)
15. Make sure windows, doors and locks work easily &
smoothly.
16. Bathrooms must shine. (Use your best towels, mats and
shower curtains)
17. Make your garage and storage areas inviting by tossing
junk and trash.
18. Make your pool sparkling clean.
19. Remove oil and grease from the garage floor and
driveway.
20. Make sure all sinks, mirrors and glass doors shine.
21. Tighten or replace cabinet handles.
22. Make sure all windows are squeaky clean.
23. Replace the mailbox if necessary.
24. Eliminate piles of magazines and newspapers.
25. Turn off the TV etc during showings.
26. Open drapes and curtains.
27. Think SAFETY. Get rid of potential "booby traps".
28. Keep the temperature at a comfortable setting.
29. Updating your kitchen and bathrooms will always enhance
sale prospects.
