When you apply for a loan the lender will run a
Credit Report on you and the rate you get will depend on your
score or whether you can get a loan. Scores range from 400 to
900, with 620 plus desirable. If you are thinking about buying a
house do not make any high $ purchases prior to applying for a
loan. Credit report will reflect the total purchase amount, not
what is owed. If you are aware of credit problems clean them up
if possible before you apply. DO NOT make frequent inquires
about your credit, because multiple inquiries will lower your
score. Sources of Credit Reports are Experian 800-311-4769,
Equifax 800-685-1111, Trans Union Corporation
800-888-4213, First American Credco 800-443-9342. There is a
charge for the report. |
