Earnest Money

 

Earnest money is deposited with the title company at the time the contract is delivered. and is an indication of buyer's "good faith". There is no fixed amount , but the amount specified in the contract must be agreeable to both buyer and seller. Personal checks can be used for earnest money. The title company will deposit the earnest money to their account upon receipt. Earnest money is applied to buyer's closing costs.
